Oils By Color





Have you ever noticed that some people have their oils organized in rainbow order instead of alphabetical? If you call Young Living customer service they'll tell you that the oils aren't color coded. While that might technically be true, they used to be, and much of the old system is still applicable today.

The colors effectively group oils together by therapeutic action or energetic families. If an oil isn't working how you'd hoped or you don't want to use the same one every day, you can choose other oils in that action group.

For the super science-based version on how oils can be split into groups, you can go the The Ternary Concept under Education in "The EO Bar" app. I have been watching videos by Jen O'Sullivan for a while, and her info has helped me greatly when looking for which oils to use for our family. Here are some of her rainbow groupings:

For mental clarity and focus- 
Copaiba, Cedarwood, Sacred Sandalwood, Vetiver, and Brain power

For health, immunity, and metabolism- Thieves, Sacred Frankincense, Cinnamon Bark, Clove, and Black Pepper

For skin support- 
Frankincense, Myrrh, Rose, Patchouli, and Ylang Ylang

For emotional support- 
Lavender, Clary Sage, En-r-gee, Valor, and Joy

For muscle, joint, and bone support- Panaway, Wintergreen, Oregano, Deep Relief, and Majoram

Cooling oils for circulation and mental stimulation-
Peppermint, Spearmint, Rosemary, Dragon Time, and Clarity

For calming, uplifting, and relaxing-
Stress Away, Lime, Peace and Calming, Gentle Baby, and Northern Lights Black Spruce

For cleansing-
Purification, Tea Tree, Lemongrass, Bergamot, and Melrose

For digestive health-
Digize, Coriander, Ginger, and Nutmeg

For upper body support-
R.C., Raven, Helichrysum, and Ravintsara

For flushing-
Lemon, Citrus Fresh, Grapefruit, Orange, Tangerine
